Dear catfish friends,
Last monday i happened to get my hands on an extra L260 for my community tank and an L134. I'm thinking both are female...what do you guys think:
L260:
L134: (sorry for blurry pictures..)
The L260 is aproximately 8cm while the L134 is just about 4-5cm. If needed, i do have some other pictures from the sides.
Thanks for your help guys!

If you were to put a gun to my head and told me the only way to survive is if I would sex these fish I would say The L260 was female and the L134 might be a male.

I'd say that the best thing to do is to keep the fish for a while and see how they develop - at least with the Peckoltia, I can guarantee that a male will show it's male-ness in a month or two (unless it's very small).
Btw, I don't see anything to DISAGREE with Waldo's suggestons - but the Peckoltia I wouldn't say becuase the pictures aren't clear enough to really tell...

Gun... MIGHT... male
I'm just going off of Barbie's method of the pectoral fins.
Matt's right though. Take more pictures. Practice makes perfect.

Hi!!
The QA is a male, not only the pectoral but on the first picture you can see a rather long interopercular odontodes
Regarding L134, no idea, pictures aren't good enough
Cheers

Yann, can you explain to me what a pectoral is (or where it is) and what interopercular odontes are???
I assumed this was a girl because of the wider and rounder bodyshape..

This is my best picture of the L134. It is about 4-6cm long now.

4-6 cm is too small to be sexually mature, if that's the entire fish (TL). 6cm SL (nose to just where the "meaty" part becomes tail-fin) would probably be about right for sexually maturity.
Seems to have a decent set of opercular odontodes on the picture tho', so I would guess male - but the picture isn't very clear, and it's not a definite. Let it grow a bit and see what happens.
