Now that you have viewed the pics, please no bashing on the size of the fish in relation to the size of the tank!!

These fish were rescued from horrible conditions!! The TSN was housed in a 60 gallon tank and the niger in a 75 gallon.

They will be receiving much larger digs in the very near future!!

Also, I am very well aware of the max size of these fish.

Nice fish! they sure look healthy to me.

but why put the thermometer smack in the middle of the frontwindow?

Because having the thermometer where its easy to see makes it easier when you are checking on a few dozen tanks.

Hey Larry long time no see, couple of nice looking cats you have there, whats the plans for their future tank?

The tank was received in trade for fish (when I was in business)!! I just haven't gotten around to replacing it!!

While the fish were (and are) healthy, they were housed in tanks much to small.

It is a testament to their care, but the owners were unaware of their potential size and therefore not equiped to house them properly.

Hey CFC,

Long time for sure!! I am in the planning stages of building a custom wood tank for them and a few other tankbusters I have. If all goes as planed it will be in the range of 12-16ft x 4-6ft. I have a few carpenter friends (myself being an ex-builder)who are designing a set of plans for me.

By the way, I am no longer in the fish business. Decided it was time just to be in the "hobby" again. Down from 130+ tanks to just the following...

6 - 72 x 18
1 - 72 x 24 (above tank)
2 - 36 x 18

Leaves me much more time to enjoy the fish!!

According to Fishbase Pseudodoras was changed into Oxydoras in "Ortega & Vari 1986:13". There's probably some explanation in that text, but I don't have access to it.
