My Clarias suffered from Columnarisdisease

My Clarias died today from Columnaris disease, I guess it was already infected when I bought him. The first fish that died of disease in my tank in many years. Does Columnaris survive in a tank with no fish and a dose of esha 2000 in it? I really hope so, I don't want to empty my tank and disinfect it because I can get some young clarias next week.
