Juwel Trigon 190
Juwel Trigon 190
Hello
I purchased a Juwel Trigon 190 about 8 months ago and have set it up as a community tank. Just recently I purchased what i was told was a leopard pleco and was told it would grow to about 10 inches. I have checked the photos on te web and think it is a Liposarcus Pardalis. It would appear that this is likely to grow to about 12 inches. My question is is my tank large enough ?
capacity = 190 litres
123L (bowed front) x 65H x 87W cm
Thanks
(i have also purchased a couple of bristle nosed plecs and a pulcher plec)

If it's actually rather than a real "Leopard Pleco": , then your tank is most certainly not big enough [it's a bit marginal even for a 10"/25cm fish, but certainly anything much larger will be too big for your tank, and if it's a P. pardalis it will outgrow even the biggest of the Juwel range (Vision 450 - 1.5m x 0.5 x 0.6m or so).

I can with certainty say that the fish WILL outgrow your tank.
I'd be tempted to take it back, actually, as it isn't what you were told it should be, and grows significantly larger by any means. Even if it's far from reaching the record size of it's brothers and sisters, you can count on it reaching 12".
Where in Surrey are you?
My favourite shop has "proper" G. joselimaianus in stock (or had last time I went there a couple of weeks back), small specimens around 2-3" in size, I think around 5 quid each - but I could have that wrong, so don't quote me on that. My favourite shop is Lynchford Aquatics, Peabody Road in Farnborough, which is not too far from say Guildford side of surrey...
