CoryMan, can you Help?

Post by CoryCatLover »

I have 4 cory's, 2 alibinos, and 2 3-lined. We have a slightly sharp substrate, but it is coted with something so it is not as sharp, there is nothing else sharp in the tank. Thier barbels aren't shorter either, is this ok :?: :?: :?:

Corys do best with a fine substrate, #3 size gravel or smaller. White sand that is sold in the states for childrens sand boxes works quite well as long as you only use a thin layer. If the sand is too deep it tends to pack down and this encourages anaerobic activity which leads to problems with water quality. I quess to answer your question are your fish OK, If they are thriving in the tank then the substrate is probably acceptable.

My Cor's

They are fine, they get fired up when I feed the other fish and swim around like crazy, they find food fairly easy too, some times my other fish get mad at thiem because in thier hunt for food they tend to run into other fish on the bottom. (like my chinese algae eater and Rubber Lipped Pleco)
