These were sold as "green back" Hassar. Haven't seen much green yet, though. They're around 5".
ID, anyone?

Hi,

They look like Hassar orestis to me or at least that was the name when I kept one a number of years ago. They look very good btw.

Regards

Chris :D

Yes, but the black markings on the fins don't seem to match.

I wouldn't place too much reliance on the postion or size of that spot as a diagnostic character.

Where did you buy those Hassars? Are these available in Stockholm?

Hej Daniel!

I suspect that these fish are bought at our store in Växjö (if You are the guy from Stockholm who was visiting our store the day before I went on my vacation). Rumour has it that you bought the "Green back Hassar" and the Physopyxis lyra and Ituglanis metae that I brought from my tanks at home, right? How are they doing? If you are good with the camera (which you seem to be) the Cat-eLog could use a few more pics of P.lyra.

Anyway nice photo, and it's always great to see that fish that you sell ends up at a good home  :D .

I can confirm that the name "Green Back" was more appropriate when we first got them to the store, they sure had a green tinge on their backs... After some weeks they lost this colour though.

Yes, I'm the guy from Stockholm. Found two more "green back" Hassar sp. in another shop (not in Stockholm) the week after.
All the fish are ok. Tonight at feeding time I was quite stunned to see all four I. metae at the same time... :o
I'll try to take some nice pics of P. lyra. It will be a lot easier than to capture the latest addition to the fish room: Tatia aulopygia.
Here's my fish pics.
