Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how good importers quarantine there plecos? (feeding,medication,ect.)if medication is used, what type?

I don't think you can be categorical about how importers and/or wholesalers do as far as what they do or don't.
Many (the good ones) will medicate with a parasite killers mainly.
Most distributors will most likely not properly quarantine the fish, but rather just medicate and observe for a few days and then ship out (that's if it's a good distributor - otherwise "nothing" is done besides moving the fish from a bag to a tank...).

What I've read about is Metrondiazole and garlic extract...

I know that a source of my routinely uses prazipro and maybe some wide spectrum antibiotic for a few days before shipping them on. It's a balance beween the need to turn over iventory promptly and moving the fish ASAP. They really need at least a week which is probably not done by any vendor unless the fish don't sell out right away in which case those remaining, if they are eating, benefit from some extra TLC but as a matter of routine, more care than I described would be be the exception not the rule. Caveat emptor is the rule.
