65 Gallon Ideas?

Hi there,

I've got a 65 gallon tank wich is sitting empty in my storageroom. I already have a Synodontis petricola 65 gallon special tank and a Corydoras 40 gallon showtank. Maybe it sounds a little bit lazy, but can somebody give me a good idea about a nice catfishspecies that could swim within this tank? Clarias? Other Synodontis species?

I'd go for a group of small Pleco's, Peckoltia spp. or Hypancistrus spp., but that's just me...

Yes, I sort of recognize that problem - there's too many possibilities. Unfortunately, I don't know what you like. One idea would be to look at the different Hypancistrus, Peckoltia and Panaque species that you can get locally. Typically, you can get things like , , , and .

Glass catfish yes.

Channel catfish, no - they grow to far bigger than what you can keep in a 65g tank... Think more of 650 gallon pond or so...

I like the shape of Clarias, but I think it gets to big for a 65G. Maybe there are smaller clarias type catfish?
I also like synodontis species.

I also have seen Ictalurus nebulosus as a possible candidate, could I house it in a 65G?
