coracoid strut?

Post by ghost716 »

I sure hope this is in the right forum. I am trying to delve deeper into learning about loricariidae, so I am researching Jon Armbruster's site. Most of the words I'm not familiar with I have found in the planetcatfish glossary, but I didn't find out what a coracoid strut was, and I even did a forum search. The closest thing I found was Yann said in someone's post "The coracoid process is the bone on the side of the belly." Is that the same meaning for coracoid strut? Tracy

The coracoid processes are the bony processes on the pectoral girdle right next to the spine in this picture:

Thank you. Is there a website where I can see stuff like that, to avoid posting tons of questions about "what is this?" Tracy

The glossary is supposed to cover terms like that, although I don't know what they did with all the drawings.

Otherwise, see this.
