What kind of catfish is this?

Hallo,

I'm searching for the scientific name of the following catfish.
The name i know is prehistoric catfish, i did some research on google but didn't found any information.
Can someone help me?

This is not a catfish, but an uranoscopid (a stargazer).

Do you know his name?

They told me it was a prehistoric catfish, another give me the name freshwater stonefish.
Used both terms on google but no results.

uranoscopid are saltwaterfish, this is an freshwaterfish from the amazone!

Sorry, that is not a uranoscopid, but the freshwater toadfish Thalassophryne amazonica.

Make sure you give him some sand to burrow in, otherwise they can't feed.

Also, be very careful when sticking your hand in the tank!

these beasties have toxic spines on their back; you do NOT want to get stung, it's very painful.

it feeds on small live fish, hence it's not that easy to keep.
very fascinating and beautiful fish though.
in all it behaves and lives almost exactly like the marine Stonefish (Synanceia verrucosa, but as a miniature version and less deadly.
