Hello! Have a question.

Hello!
I have a quick question (hopefully!).
I am looking for an algae eater or catfish that will do well in a tank with an Oscar fish and a Crayfish.
Oh, and it needs to be inexpensive and hopefully easily purchasable!

If you actually have a tank that is suitable for Oscar [1], then you could get a
or perhaps a prettier looking and smaller growing
.
Crayfish can nip just about any fish, Oscars included, if the fish gets close enough, which it probably will at some point or another, so I'm not sure what to recommend with that... Probably best to separate them, really...
[1] Something like 100-150 gallon, minimum.

That's interesting.
I'd have thought the Crayfish itself would be a bit of an Algae eater.

Definitely not, they are omnivores on the carnivore side. They do eat quite a bit of insects and carrion (fish that died for one reason or another), but small fish that gets close may well get caught too...

Fair enough.
I remember as kids, catching them in the Rivers and Channels, with a piece of old meat as bait.
I was under the impression that they were like the proverbial 'Goat', and eat anything (tin cans etc).

Yup, but that depends on where you live and you've been unhelpful enough not to tell us that...
What dimensions and volume is the tank?

Depends where you live, too. In certain areas of the US, you go to a local pond and catch them(childhood memories). Just make sure to comply with local codes and quarantine appropriately.
