A couple of dinky corys

These were bought with the catfish from my previous post:

and a pair of these a couple of months later:

I've been told a couple of different names for both, so I'd like a definative ID if possible. I thought the top ones were pandas, but a buddy told me something else. Both types are just under an inch and are at least a year old. Many thanks in advance :)

The top one is C. metae, which when fully grown should reach around two inches. The lower one is C. sterbai, this one grows to two and a half inches.

They have been I.D. for you but I just want to complement on how nice your C. metae look. They are an old favorite of mine but I've never found really young one to grow out. They look so nice compared to freshly imported adults.

I love C.metae. They were my first fish ever. But I've not seen any for years now...

There must be a breeder in my area as here they're quite easy to get (lucky 'ol me!) :D
