Building a new fish house for Plecos

The new building will be 30 foot by 24 foot. I am having a custom made aquarium that will be 144"x 48"x 36" = a little over 1000 gal. Now to the question I would like to try to breed an L# that is not usually breed in a home aquariums do to the size restraints of aquariums. I would love to hear suggestions on what L# you would like to see me try to breed.

. As for what to try breeding it's personal preference really, but having said that if you could get hold of a big pair of L25's or something like that. Please keep us updated with photo's.

Try some common plecs, most would overlook these but i love them!

There's obviously nothing wrong with breeding "Common plecos", but I would probably aim for
, or some other larger "exotic" pleco (L24/L25 already been suggested). The reason for this is twofold:
1. Common plecos are being bred in the millions in SE Asia and Florida - L14, L25 etc aren't reported as tank-bred ever, so should be a good "feather in the hat" to achieve.
2. A secondary effect of the huge number of common plecos being bred in SE Asia and Florida is that they are "cheap" in the local shops. Anyone who breeds a Common Pleco would be lucky to get pennies for each baby. A 2-3" L14 on the other hand would be selling for a few dollars even at the distribution stage (it's likely that these fish have quite large broods, in the hundreds or thousands, so it's worth considering "what to do if successfull").

If you are going for large....go for the expensive ones. Commons are the cheapest pelco around and every store has them.
Check out their habitat and try to set the tank up as close as possible and you just may be the first to breed a specific species in a home tank.
Good luck on getting the unheard of to happen. I'm sure it is a matter of time and will take patience.....I'm not big on that part. Just ask my BN who have their pots check for eggs all the time

You could try to come up with some large gold nuggets and breed those. They're getting very popular, but I would imagine most to be wild caught. I've heard that some boxes come in with 30 fish (2") but some boxes come in with 2 fish (8"). If you could find someone with access to those big fish, maybe you could get them breeding.
They're selling for $30-40 around here, so that means that a good LFS will give you $15 to $20 for each. A distributor may give less, but buy more.
Not to mention, they're good-looking fish!

you can get big gold nugget's, Pier Aquatics in Wigan (England) have 4 9" nugget's in at the moment, both sex's.

I would try something like L114, L25, or L273. I do know that Joefish building ponds to house a couple of these species in the hopes to spawn them. I would aim for a large group of around 7-10 or so.
