Does anyone have any special techniques they use to trigger corys to breed during the warmer months of summer?I've bred Barbatus,Sterbai,Adolfoi, and your common corys but all during fall and winter.I feed my cats frozen bloodworms, frozen glassworms,a little frozen brine shrimp, earthworm flake, some pellet foods, and live whiteworms.I'm currently working with Barbatus,Sterbai,Metae,Gossei,Longfin Albino,Green Aneaus, and have some Acutus coming next week.Any info would be helpfull. Tanks are kept at 74 except for the Barbatus which is a little cooler(70)and the sterbai which is around 77-78.

I just carry on my waterchanges excactly like in winter. It seems that most of my fish are taking some time off from spawning, but some of them carry on like they do in winter. I cant see any difference from wild caughts to bred fish. It seems taht some species will spawn at all times, while other have certain times of the year for that.
One reson could be that all my tank have went up by 5-6 degrees celcius because of the summer temperatures. This might have a negative effect spawning wise, but then again, the fish probably need some resting time too.

My spawning group of 6-8 Corydoras adolfoi is still going strong. They've spawned almost constantly since january, allthough I too expected to see some less activity when summer arrived. But no... they still spawn almost every week, and I'm starting to get worried. They must be exhausted!? Last spawn was just a couple of days ago.
I'm actually planning to "starve" them a little bit now, just to get them to relax a little. Maybe I feed them too much, and that's why they spawn all the time.
These Corys are wild caught specimens. I bought them in december, and they started to spawn in early january.
By the way, this is a picture of one of the charming results
This one is about 5 months old.
