Hey all. Ok I guess I have really bad luck when it come to breeding corys. I can breed angelfish and bettas but now ALBINO CORYS, and I always read they are so easy to breed. Well first I tried with 8 in a 29 gallon, then 3 in a 10 gallon. What am I doing wrong. I am attempting to try again since it is summer, and I have a lot of time on my hands to devote to them spawning. Here is what my set up is going to be, or things I already have. I have a ten gallon tank with larger rocks/pebbles on the bottom, filter, airstones for when I stick the eggs in the net breeders, I have a really big plastic plant that I used to have in a 25 gallon, that I am going to cut so I can have a few smaller little plants so if the corys want to lay eggs on them. How many corys should I get? Should I put anything else in there?

I find with the common corydoras it is mainly food related. mine have spawned in almost all water conditions in community tanks (althow lower ph is best)when they simply get enough live food. Mine ran rampant after a few feedings of live blackworm, also when fed good quality bloodworms for a week or two.

That could be one of the problems right there. Even though I always read not that much live food could be given and they still will spawn, thats probably just my luck that I dont get a spawn when I dont feed live . What if I fed frozen bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, normal flake, and those sinking discs for cories. Would that be good enough? I have no idea where to get live food, except brine shrimp.

What temperature are you attempting to breed them at? I would imagine Angelfish and Bettas breed at a higher temperature than Corydora spp.

Right now I have the temp at about 75 degrees farhenheit (spelling). But the tank is cycled now, I went to my lfs to get a water check yesterday, I didnt get any corys yet though. I put one in there that was in my 29 gallon. And I think I am going to pick up 4 more in a couple hours. How does that sound?

Why did you put 1 Cory in your tank? I think it is advisible to learn a little about corys. Maybe it is also better for the breeding proces of your angelfish, that you keep the Corydoras you are planning to breed with in a seperate tank. Than nothing can be disturbed.

I dont keep the corys in the same tank as the angels. Well here is the deal my smallest one and my largest one look like they are cleaning a spot. I am not really sure though. They are both on the side of the plastic breeder device. What does it look like when they clean a spot?
