Plexi and plecos

I am looking to buy a new tank, and based on the weight of larger glass tanks, I was thinking of going with acrylic.

Are there any obvious plecos to say away from besides panaques?

I think you may find that MOST plecos will to some extent scratch the "glass" in an acrylic tank. Particularly ones that are good algae eaters. You're somewhat less likely to have problems with for instance Hypancistrus that are more of a meat-eater, as they wouldn't go looking for food on the "glass" anyways.

However, the water inside the tank will be something like 8 or 10 times heavier than the tank itself, so why worry? Or are you going to move the tank around often?

It was more of a heavy to carry around thing. Depending on when I get it, I should only have to move it once or twice. Since I would need a second person to carry a 65 gal anyone, I guess it doesn't really matter too much.

Thanks for the reply.
