Hi all

Interested to see who uses Gelatine on a regular basis to make your own food tabs for your plecs?

I make a vege one and a shrimp mix one for my plecs and I add 3 teaspoons of Gelatine and 200mls of water to approx 3 cups of mix. I have been told tho that the Gelatine can be dangerous for the plecs as they can't digest it??

Anyone know more about this?

I haven't made plec food .

Gelatine is made from meat, bones and what not.

An alternative gelling agent is "Agar Agar".
This is made from natural Sea Vegetables (Gelidium Sp.).
Bascially they boil the veggies press it and then the extract (Agar) is freeze dried and is sold as flakes (most often), or powder in the supermarket.
You use 2 teaspoons of Agar powder/Flake for each 600ml of liquid for strong gelling.
I am unsure if that would be the correct amount for making the plec food, so you will need to experiment .
