My albino bristles have bred(at fn last)but the male has kicked about a quarter of the eggs out and I have removed them to a breeding trap with an airstone. The remaining eggs are still in the breeding cave(bamboo)but they are not stuck and the male keeps leaving them and coming back.Should I just leave things hope they do ok and grow the ones I have or move the whole spawn?I dont have a seperate tank to raise them though.

I'd suggest tilting the cave so he can't fan them out. Tilt the cave so the mouth of the cave is lifted up a 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch or so. Being a first time daddy he's probably pretty excited and is just fanning them right out the door. The rest left with dad should be fine...

I am going through the same thing myself. I think the male just gets startled once in a while, and his jerking actions in the cave simply and accidentally fan the eggs out of the door, not on purpose. I have a long skinny plastic tube that I stick in the tank, I put my finger over the end and I suck up the eggs and then let them slide down back into the cave. That seemed to work. Now I am doing it with the wigglers, they get fanned out, I did about 5 last night and 2 this morning. I am trying to keep them in the cave for now until they lose the egg sac.

I've hatched eggs and raised wigglers in a breeder net left floating in the main tank. If the male keeps kicking them out, it would probably be OK for you to take over. Just attach something floaty to the breeder net and put the eggs and airstone in there. I even did one batch without the airstone until they absorbed their yolksacs completely. All survived just fine.

Well the ones in the first cave are gone but I notice he is hanging about the second cave a lot so I shone a light in and theres a load of eggs in there too.I didnt realise a female could lay a second clutch within a day of the first one.

Probably more likely that the male moved the eggs - I've heard of them doing that. It takes about 4 weeks for the female to grow new eggs...

Or you can just spit the fry back into the male's cave. That should work too. The only dilema you have is, should you do it or not. I find that every time the wrigglers got kicked out. It's always on the 1st and 2nd day when the eggs hatched. I suspect that some of the wrigglers may not have developed the strength to suck onto the surface. So when dad started fanning, some will get booted out. Once on the 3rd day after hatching, I never get any kicked out wrigglers.
Now the problem is. Was it intensional or not? It might have been a test to kick out the weaker frys because they develope late or don't the strength to suck onto the surface ... I always wonder about that ....

I find eggs being kicked out isnt an issue unless you have other fish that are egg eaters in the tank. I have my tank split with a divider currently with a male and young from a spawn. I moved a female in as she looked very fat and if anything I just wanted to releive her of eggs which happened a couple of days later. The male lost the eggs outside the tunnel a day later and they have incubated and hatched in the tank no problem- no airstone no breeding net etc.
