Hi all,
any idea what species of Rhineloricaria this is? It was bought as a 'whiptail cat'. The fins aren't barred as is described for R. eigenmanni. I havent' had a good look at the ventral side to look for the dark stripes.
Thanks in advance
Jeff
(can't get my photo to show up for some reason. Any hints? Never had a problem before)
Getting a bit off the topic of the identification of these fish....but does anyone know anything about where they come from? Whitewater, blackwater, etc. I am currently housing them in a 20g tall in my hard-as-rock tapwater (TDS=@350ppm). Any info would be appreciated!
Rineloricaria lanceolata is common in several rivers in south america. So the habitat is always an other. There are types from blackwater and also types from white and clearwater. With soft water and temperatures about 24-26°C you cannot go wrong.
Thanks Norman,
so far they seem to be doing OK. Its's good to know that they probably aren't too particular about their conditions - makes my job easier!
