should i add 1 or 2 cory cats to my brindled madtom tank?

My 10 gallon tank is setup with a sand bottom 2 caves and a live plant. theres 1 ghost shrimp 1 guppy 1 brindled madtom catfish and 1 temporary 2 to 3 inch channel cat. the plant is the only living thing over 3 inches in the tank.
im looking to add cory cats or corydoras catfish whichever you prefer to call them. and was just curious. how many could i add without overstocking?
the channel cat will be out before hes 5 inches probably before hes 4 inches so its not long term.
SHould i just get 1 or could i get more and not have any problems?.
i know they recommend having 2 or more but im not sure if my tank can handle it or not so i thought id ask you guys.
thanks alot.
