For my information, how did you diagnose this fish as belonging to the genera Pseudoloricaria ?

There is a recent article in Datz with pictures from Ingo Seidel showing a fish labelled Ps. laeviuscula but which looked rather different.

Hello,

Pseudoloricaria species are closely related to the genus Loricariichthys. Its mouth shape is characteristic, as well as its color pattern. It can be confused with an other species that is Limatulichthys griseus (the species on the picture in DATZ). But as you can see these 2 species look really different. Pseudoloricaria is also much bigger (30 cm) than Limatulichthys (20 cm). You can also distinguish these two closely related species by the abdominal cover made of quite small plates in Pseudoloricaria, and by the length of the pelvic spines (longer than the pelvic-fin rays) in Pseudoloricaria.
