Choosing a catfish

Hey all. I'm new to this forum, and the closest thing I have to catfish are leopard corys and otos, lol. I'm getting a 33gallon soon (hopefully), and I want to get some rainbow cichlids. Was wondering what sort of catfish would be good in a community oriented tank. Just catfish and cichlids, nothing else. Maybe an oto or two for algae removal, unless I get a cat that can do that, too. Any suggestions and/or advise would be much appreciated. :D

I am afraid you already have two kinds of catfish, are you thinking of another kind specifically?

Oh, lol. Sorry for being ignorant. Heh. I wanted a bigger catfish for the bigger tank I'll be getting. 4-7 inches or so, no larger than that.

You can't go wrong with one of the ancistrus sp.(bristlenose)good algea eater, durable, interesting character and the size range you are after.
There are quite a few other possibilities, have a look at the Cat-eLog above maybe narrow down what interests you and then ask more questions.
Keep an eye on where they are from and water conditions needed to go with the cichlids you like.
Also find out what is available to you from wherever you plan on getting your fish.
