Hey all I'm new the Planet Catfish.
I have an ID I need help with.
We have had this Syndontis for more then 2 years and still don't know what it is.
The pic is a little fuzzy.
He's about 7 inches long. And pretty thick through the middle. He's dorsal fin is really tall and the white stripe you see is not white it's actully a scale-less stripe.
If this doesn't work I'm sorry I'm not very good at the html stuff.

Id say the dorsal looks like S.eupterus ...cant make out the head of the fish in your pic. Any chance for a better one?
That "scaleless part" I dont get as Synos dont have scales at all...
Check the FAQ (next to cool stuff) für how to link pics

Well not scale-less it looks almost like it has a disease a part of his body is missing it's the same accross his face. looks almost like the skin has fallen off. Except he's grown like that.
Hope that helps

Highly unlikely
A pic that shows the whole fish would help a lot. (without tigger and the pig on it) ;)

That sounds EXACTLY like my fish. Only he's had it for almost a year and doesn't really looks or act sick. I'll take the advice of the other post and see if I can fix him,
Thanks so much
