Waht is the best form of filtration and heating for a 2.4 metres x 50 cm x 60 cm tank. It will house L-plecs. I was thinking of undergavel filters powered by a pair of Eheim 2128 Thermofilters. Any thoughts or views gratefully accepted

Hi!
Undergravel are bad idea I think especially for catfish, as the gravel is used to trap all the detritus, it will raise the risk for the catfishes of getting bacterial infections and things like that!!
Better use 2 externals filters along with inner pumps to insure a proper water flow!!
You could also imagine what has been used/made by some of the members in their rivertanks!!
Cheers

I have not used these, but they would be well worth a try in a large pleco tank. No drilling and massive filtration with a place to hide heaters.

i have 2 of the 2128's and they work like a charm! can recommend those to everybody. i also use an eheim 2080 for another tank and that is great too! massive filter but no internal heater.
