Firewall Blocking Pics

Resently I was updating my virus definations for Nortons Internet Security when a file was corupted during download. A message was displayed saying Live Update had changed my FW settings. I rebooted and repeated, all went well the second time around.
However my FW is now blocking all pics in the cat-elog. Also the "resent update" thumbnails. Pics embedded in a thread display fine.
I cleared my logs and attempted to dispaly a pic. When I checked the logs afterward they reported a block on "UPNP". So I changed the rules to allow UNPN even though I have no idea what this means. Didn't matter, pics still blocked.
Anyone have an idea what the problem is?

Yes, I've been struggling with this for some time now. It's to do with the referrer variable that the image manipulation script (aka catscan) uses to work out if an image is being hotlinked from the site.
I'm continuing to look into it.

Try that? If it's still not working can you copy and paste the outpiut from this page -
http://www.planetcatfish.com/scripts/browser_test.php - into this topic please.
Cheers,

Nothing to do with the images problem,
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=886257&SD=tech . Can you also tell me what you see instead of the images when you try and view them full size?
Are you with AOL?

Thanks for the reply. All the cat-elog pics are displaying as a thin box with a red "x" in the upper left corner. Followed by the species name and the phrase "Click to go back to the thumnails"
I'm not using AOL. Just IE with RCN as my ISP.
When I disable Nortons all the pics pop right up on refresh. So I know it's in this changed FW setting. Just unsure what was changed.

Try that, I think it's the firewall blocking your referer info. (which is perfectly legit) and my image rendering script then thinks you are me and tries to run the thing locally.
Anyway, does it work now.

If it doesn't tell me what you get on the screen if you click on the above link.
