Are these a naturally occuring species or are they bred for these long fins?

I don't usually like albinos, but after I got my longfin albino L144 it changed my mind. Hes the most active and visible in the tank. I love the long flowing fins.

I have him in my tank where my L204 is (I think that's his number - black guy with orange stripes). They were battling it out last night and I broke up the fight. I kept checking on them (I think they were just laying the ground work of which cave belongs to who). This morning everything seemed fine and he was just hanging on the side of the tank and the stripey guy was hanging on his tree.

He is fun to watch - very active! I have a smaller veil tail (not albino) and he's always swimming around. Kinda fun having plecs that don't hide all the time so you can actually enjoy them (versus spending a fortune on them and never seeing them). :-)

But what I really want is a zebra or some other black/white non-spotted plec. Would just be cool. :-)

Eh? A defining point of L144 is that it's NOT an albino, so I'm afraid you'll have to remove one of those l-numbers from your signature collection.

They may not even be a true species, they are certainly not naturally occuring and are bred for the long fins.
