Spawning Register

As a new member to the CSG, is there a process for recording successful spawnings to add to a register or enable breeders groups to be entered in future shows etc?
I don't want to be missing any key information or stages when compiling spawning logs. I've taken pictures and video of spawning events but don't have the right gear to photograph fry stages.
I've had a look on the CSG site but can't find what I'm looking for.
Cheers in advance,
Mark.

Hi Mark
This seems to be one of Ians favourite subjects at the moment. He really wants to set up a breeders award scheme, and has a few ideas on how it should be done, and there was a lengthy discussion on a thread in another forum awhile back. i don't think anything like this is set up yet only a breeders list on the csg site . Email Ian he might know a bit more on this subject.

Thanks Stuart.
It would be great to establish an award scheme through the group.
In the meantime is their an agreed process for documenting spawnings and what do we need to do to get a spawning ratified to enable a breeders team to be entered, e.g. photo evidence or witness statement - or do we just turn up with a group of fish at a show (for example)?
Cheers,
Mark.

A the moment mark we turn up and the judges belive our honesty. cheats do stand out a mile usually . And why cheat you only cheat yourself i think. Have you got something coming along? it would be nice for more breeders to exhibit there achievements at the open show, and there is a master breeders award. But you have to show three different species to qualify(i've won it for the last two years i might add)

Cheers Stuart,
Exactly what I was wondering! Don't think I'll be entering the master class just yet - but I'd like to think I could offer some competition in years to come!
I'm learning a lot from hatching and rearing weekly cycles of barbatus. My latest strategy is to use rainwater to hatch them out with twice daily changes in their half litre aerated containers, with a trace of meth blue. High pH and hard water over this side of the pennines.
I'm still only getting 20% hatch rates and wonder if scraping the eggs off the glass could be damaging them. There is always an egg membrane residue left on the glass after removal. They've only once laid on a plant leaf - which makes removal so much easier!
I'm planning to try spawning mops on my next target species including elegans gold-stripe, axelrodi, polystictus, kanei and weitzmani.
Thanks for the feedback,
Mark.
