Pictus acting strange

I just purchased a pictus catfish about 4 days ago and he seems to be doing fine and healthy. The only problem is that when I turn the light on, he comes to the from of the tank and swims with his stomach against the glass in the same spot. When I turn the light off, he goes on to normal business. I know that pictus are a little afraid of the light, but I have many artificial plants in the tank along with a woodlike structure where there is plenty of space you can go underneath where it's more dim. Why wouldn't he use that when the lights are on and does anyone know what's the problem?

The problem is that pictus are a shoaling species, and kept singly, they usually do this. You should add at least a couple more.

Yes, I would recommend keeping three or more.

Of course, be aware that they do grow to around 6" total length.
