What size tank do you need for a fully grown L27 Royal Plec

Picture a football with fins. . . .

At least a six-foot tank for a single specimen - something in the 220 gallon range or larger. An adult nigrolineatus can reach between 14 and 16 inches in time. You do know the larger loricaria like your panaque can live for well over 20 years, right?

yes I realised the size and longevity of Ollie. Just was not sure what size tank he would eventually need

The guideline I'm using says 4L x 2L x 2L where L is the length of the fish. At, say, 15 inches, that would make the tank-size 60 x 30 x 30 (inches) -> 195 Imp gal / 230 US gal.

You'll have some time before you need this big a tank tho', they aren't the fastest growers in the fish-world. Plenty of wood, lots of oxygen will help it grow quickly.
