During the last meeting of the Brazilian Society of Ichthyology (SBI) in January 2003, the journal "Neotropical Ichthyology" was formally created. This is the official scientific journal of the Brazilian Society of Ichthyology and will be dedicated to all subjects involving Neotropical
fishes. The Journal will be distributed to all members of SBI and to other subscribers.
