I'm probably not posting that in the right section... sorry...

I have been wondering if I'm actualy feeding my Bulldog Pleco the right amount of food... :?: and if there would be other foods that are good for him. Like vegies for example..
So far I have been feeding him algae wavers, which he just gobbels right up, and the algaes growing in his tank.
what would be the right amount of algae wavers for him? Or of other foods?? I'm now dropping in up to 3,which are also gone by the morning... but the Godfish might help there a bit (i feed them before I put the wavers in and then turn the lights off)
the reason, why i'm asking is because i was starting to think that this might be a pretty boring diet for him.

Hello Iris,
Chaetostomas can be quite fussy with wafers. They can eat wafers, but it take can take a little coaxing(or a lot). I stay away from bloodworms because they seem to have a bit of a hard time managing them. Frozen daphnia is good. Zucchini, parboiled and cooled off in ice water is excellent. Frozen spinach is another good one. The amounts are fairly small. Chaetostoma species will often rasp on algae on the glass. You can see their bellies. If they are hollow, they are starving. If they are bloated, you might be overfeeding. Please look at the Cat-eLog for the type of parameters required for Chaetostoma species. They come from mountainous regions with quick moving, cool waters.
