I have mine in a 20 long, 12 x 12 x 30 inches. This group includes a breeding trio and one odd man/woman out  .

Hope that helped.

I have a colony of 6 x L46 in a 30" tank. This includes an alpha male, another male, three females and juvenile (don't know what sex yet). Plus I keep the babies in a floating trap in the same tank for a while. It's set up as a species tank, with no substrate so I can keep it really clean. The fish seem to do fine in this. I have a big filter (Eheim 2224) on this tank for a high turnover rate and good flow, which is also important.

Hi Mindy, any chance you can take a picture of your tank set up?
I am just wondering how big are your caves, mine don't seem to like my caves. I am not sure if it was the MTS snails or what ...
As an experiment, I drop a pair of BN pleco in and they breed like rabits, but zebras seems not interested.

I'll take a few snaps when I get in from work. I believe Zebras are quite particular about their cave size. It has to be just big enough that the male can get in and wedge himself in with outstretched fins. This way he can hold himself in when there's a fast flowing current (as in their wild habitat) and also he can trap the female at the back when they are spawning. Until I can take more pictures, here's my alpha male guarding a cave...
