Please help me to identify these two catfish. One was bought when very small as a Pearl Catfish but now he has grown, he is larger than they are supposed to get. He is currently around 9" in length and still growing. He seems to have all the traits of an asian red-tail but without the red tail!!
The other was sold as an aluminium catfish. I can find no reference to this name anywhere. Looking at Axelrod, I have an idea but I do not want to say what, unless it influences replies. He is currently 6" in length having grown from his original 2" about 6 months ago.
Any ideas in confirming their identity will be very much appreciated.
Thank you all.

Sue

The first fish seems to be a Bagrus species. You may check the Bagridae in the Cat-eLog.
The second fish is imo a Chrysichthys species. You may check the Claroteidae.
