First of all let me say that I do not have any intentions to crossbreed any fish.I simply want to know if a dwarf Cory and a normal size Cory are capable of crossbreeding? A simple yes or no will be fine. Again I do not have any intentions to crossbreed any fish,so you do not have to lecture me about crossbreeding.

The only dumb question is the one that is not asked!

Noone said your question was dumb, if that's what your bottom line is referring to.

However, answering a question with a reference to another post that does contain the answer, even if it's MORE than the direct answer to the question asked, is considered fair and appropriate response.

To answer with a Yes or No, it appears that the answer is "probably NO", dwarf forms of cories do not seem to breed with "regular sized ones". But until someone has REALLY tried to cross breed them, who knows? [And I'm not saying anyone SHOULD try, but that, combined with a public reporting of the result, is the only way to certainly know these things].

I think Ian (Coryman) says that if you have a mixture of mature cories, they ALMOST ALWAYS prefer to breed with their own specie. The real concerning situation would be if there is only a female of one specie, and a genetically compatible male of another specie. So, if you keep a mixed sex group of dwarf cory and a mixed sex group of normal size cory, you should be OK.

Sorry for the "sitting on the fence", but I kind of don't like it when I state something in TRUTH, and later on get proven otherwise.
