pictus in with malawi's???

is this possible???would the pictus be able to cope with the high ph?????thanks in advance.

Almost everything is possible, but this one is definitely not recommended. Why not take Synodontis multipunctatus: more or less the same colour pattern, very lively and in every aspect way better adapted to life in a Malawi tank (although it originates from Lake Tanganjika).

Or why not even go for a Synodontis Njassae - the only syno to come from the lake???

True, but this one is pretty hard to obtain (at least overhere)

Here too, and the market's flooded with hybrids from czech.

Took me a while to get hold of mine - but worth it in the end I feel.

Definitely yes. The last time I saw them was in Aachen (Germany) this summer and what great fish they are !
An absolute asset to every Lake tank.
Perhaps you can help out Rixy in finding them; if he's interested of course :wink:
