Hi

I've managed to breed them so here are some not so good images. The C113 fry look like small zebras, not the checker board pattern barbatus and kronei has. They are about 15 mm, the evelynae is about 2.5 months old.

Congrats on the spawnings. Nice photographs. Would you be so kind as to share your information on your Scleromystax C113. Water parameters, diet, temperature, that sort of thing you did.

I am getting some C112 at months end and am interested in getting tehm to spawn. Any experience you wish to share.

Great job with the C113 and the evelynae. Both fish are seldom available in the States.

No I think the post is too old but theres another guy that says hes bred Evelynae a while back too.

I checked the site where the images are, and it seems like the website is a commercial one for fire-extinguishers and such - possible that the OP either is no longer the owner the site, or was using some unofficial pages, and removed them...

I second the request for parameter info as I have S.Barbatus and would like to know as well.

Temp was around 76º, pH - 7.0 and TDS around 120.

A note of caution. Unless I use a high concentration of meth blue, the eggs will generally fungus, right before they are ready to hatch, but I have gotten wrigglers from eggs that appeared to be affected by too much fungus to be considered viable.

Thanks Frank. I just snapped some shots of my Barbatus and can now tell the sex of the fish since the males are now starting to show their markings. I was wondering if this was any indication that they are reaching sexual maturity and hopefully spawning will start occurring? Or if this change notes that there is x amount of time before they will be old enough to breed?

Adult coloration signifies approaching sexual maturity. From that point on it is simply a waiting game. I used to be under the impression that it took 12 months or more for any group of Corys to begin spawning, but what I have seen in my fish room shows that many groups will start at 9 months and a few, even sooner. Of course much of that depends on how your fish are kept as there are many factors that enter in as to when a group of fish will begin spawning, if at all.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. It took over two years for my 835's to breed waiting for them to get mature. This will be a breeze!
