Heriberto I think you have posted this in the wrong place/forum

Here's the translation for those who are willing to help

"Folks, I dont know what to do, my plecos L-270 and L-260 are in a 90 liters tank, pH 6.8, I do water changes every 3 days, there's no substrate, only some caves, I dont have a filter and the aeration is done by a 650 p/L "submersive compressor" (my note: sorry guys I have no idea how to translate this word because I dont know what it is), what's wrong? they do not always 'open' their fins, and seem to hide all the time, I never see them, what now?"

That's standard procedure with most hypancistrus, and indeed, most loricariids. Specifically, I've found L-270 to be amongst the most secretive of the genus. If you were looking for highly personable fish, you sure picked the wrong family to chose your stock from.

EDIT: Regarding the "clamping" issue, I would think that most fish do NOT fully extend their fin rays unless alarmed in some manner.

Have you been able to check ammonia and nitrite levels? With no substrate or filter media you may be constantly cycling the tank when you do water changes.

I agree with Jellyfish. I would get a test kit for ammonia and nitrites as soon as possible, if you already dont have one. But, what Jon said is also important. Depending on the type of plecostomus you have, he will be more or less sociable. It looks like the ones you have are the unsociable kinds.

I don't speak Portuguese, so if somebody could translate this it would be great.

The clamped fins sounds like a water-quality issue. We need to know more about the water parameters to see if there is something wrong with the water (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, temperature, and hardness). Also, what other fish are in the tank?

The hiding is nothing to worry about. Most healthy plecos will hide, and it's when they spend a lot of time out in the open that you should start to worry. Are the plecos eating?

Huh? What are you talking about? I've translated the text. Did you see above? BTW, he's moved it to the plecostomus forum.

You didn't read my whole post. I was talking about the text that I wrote, which was responding to your translation.

Oh Im so sorry, I did read your post, but since your request for a translation came before your actual post, I thought you were referring to Heriberto's post. Duh me!!

Now, he did start the same topic in the locariidae forum, so, if you dont mind, I can copy your post and translate it there. :)
