Tatia Perugiae Breeding? I've had these small woodcats for awhile. How do I know if I have a pair? Any ideas how to breed them?

If I posted in the wrong area, I apologize.

Thanks,

Scott

Scott,
I just picked up 2 of these little guys this am. Do you mind if I ask you a couple questions since you have some? Mine are looking VERY thin, ragged, torn dorsals etc. What do you feed yours? Any tips on care? I am a little afraid they might not pull through, I got them from a not-so-good store. Felt sorry for them, although I've wanted some woodcats for a while now anyway. Thx.

Check the Cat-eLog. There are good pix of the major difference between males & females.
The Shanesworld article doesn't give pix; this may be due to the fact that until very recently the species was described here as Centromochlus perugiae.
Jools is doing his utmost to repair this (correct me if I'm wrong).

What fish were they with in the LFS tank?

They really like bloodworms; but go easy on flakes as well. Pretty strong fish, so if you get them to eat, I think they will survive. Feed when the lights are out because then they are more at ease.

No aggressive tankmates. Plenty of hiding places, preferably driftwood. Strictly nocturnal at first, so don't be afraid when they are "invisible" for a couple of weeks.

It is fixed now (I used Tatia instead of tatia) but I only just noticed this by accident. Feel free (anyone) to post in the bugs forum to report this kind of mistake.

Cheers,

Jools
