i've found that sterbei are pretty much active all the time espcially when feeding but most of the pygmy species like hastatus and pygmaeus keep on the go.

The pygmy corys are definitely active swimmers. Among my corydoras I have observed that C. panda and c. paleatus are the most active-- schooling and scouting for food.

As they exist in nature as large schools and tend to stay above the substrate the dwarfs were sometimes called in old literature as 'tetra cories' . The more you get of those little guys (no less than six to start) the more fun they are to watch.

C.Trilineatus and C.Paleatus, from experience, are very active. The more of them there are, the more shoaling behaviors you'll see. They give each other lots of cues. It's great to watch!
