Hello,

Few weeks ago I have bought this fish:

http://akwa.mbnet.pl/pleco/fish/L173_1.jpg
http://akwa.mbnet.pl/pleco/fish/L173_2.jpg

salesman said it's L173 but certainly it isn't.
I have looked over Aqualog and I think this catfish
looks similar to:

- Hypancistrus sp. L287 (L307)
- Peckoltia sp. LDA18
- Hypancistrus sp. LDA76
- Hypancistrus sp. L66

I'm wonder what you think about it.
Bright places are not so brown as picture shows
(little brighter).

greets

Konrad

Hello Konrad,

I'm not an expert and it's just a blind shoot :) but someone has to start, so

look at <a href="http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/lo ... p">this</a> fish, close to your?
And one question, how big is your fish?

Regards.

Thanks for answer.
I guess (based on body and fins shape)
that my pleco belongs to hypancistrus genus.
It has rather different body coloration than
the one you mentioned.

Hard to say from that angle but it looks like a nice L270.

Looks very similar to a couple of the fish that I too purchased as L173, that were later ID'd by Yann as L287. You can see them at http://www.plecos.net/gallery/displayim ... =50&pos=14 .

After watching your L287 and other pictures on
Planet Catfish I guess this is it. Thanks!

Hi!

I don't think it is a L270...

Regarding L287, they do look quite similar...

Cheers
