Experiance with L001?

i have a small 6" L001, a member on here just helped me identify it :)

i was wondering if anyone here has any experiances that they could share with me with these guys? at the moment he is in a 90g tub with 3 common goldfish. he has been in there for 2.5 months and has been doing quite well, he mananged to grow 4" out there :)
i have dfitwood and rocks caves out there for him. i feed him zuccini, potato, some earthworms, and of course he gorges himself on the hair algea coating the sides of the tub. he has already become quite tame, he'll swim right inot my hand and will be hand fed worms.

so, is there anything else i should be doing for him? i just want him to have the best life i can give him :).

also, i know he will easily, and probably quickly, reach 10-12", so will he be able to stay in the 90g for life with the 3 commons? or should i upgrade? next spring i will be biulding a 1500g goldfish pond, if by then he starts going after my goldies, he will be put into the 200g mini pond that will be pouring into the main pond from the waterfall.

am i doing everything right? or am i wrong? this guy is my first pleco, so i'm not quite sure, and i'm getting a lot of conflicting info on the net :/

i managed to scrounge up a few old pic so him, these are when he was about 4.5" i'll try to get some updated ones tommorow :)
the first two are when he was still 3.5", the other is at 4.5" (about 3.5 weeks later, it won't be long until he's a good foot long!hehe)

in the last pic he is in a tank, but is now back out in his 90g tub with the comet and 2 commons. a racoon recently decided ot feast upon my all but 1 of my fancy goldies :(,i was worried for him so i brought him in, just to be sure he wasn't injured during the ordeal.i now have racoon proof lids for night time so i feel secure that he and my new goldies will be safe.

i know, not the greatest pics, my digi cam isn't the best lol but with the right light i can get great pics, so we'll see :)

btw- his name is Katata :)

thank you to anyone that responds :0

Well I've raised a couple to adult size..

They're not shy at all as adults from what I've seen, and seem to eat voraciously at any size. Both took barely a year to reach that adult (10"TL) size too. So considering that, I'd be very careful to make sure it gets plenty of food that the goldfish can't eat all of right away. I have no doubts at all that these would turn to rasping on other fish if hungry enough.

Raw greens & chunks of yam or hard squash should be durable enough to not be totally devoured by the goldfish too quickly.

I take it you are planning to bring the pleco inside from the pond during winter?

zenyfish- yes i do plan on taking him in. actually i'm taking both tubs inside for the winter :). it gets pretty cold where i live (usually -5'C to -30'C eep!!). i hope he doens't end up going after the goldies (he is in with 2 commons and 1 comet atm in a 90g), bu i can easily mov ehim to his own 50g tub by himself if that happens.

thanx for respones! keep them coming :D
