In K C Jayaram, The freshwater fishes of India (zoological survey of india, Calcutta; re-print1994). In his Diagnosis of Laguvia he makes reference that they have serrae on the inner edge of the pectoral spine; yet there is no reference to the pectoral spine having serrae on its outer edge.
As I have what I believe are Pseudolaguvia(Laguvia) shawi, and due to them having serrations on both edges of the pectoral spine, coupled with the discription of Pseudolaguvia tenebricosa, saying that they have serrations on both edges.
Is the description in Jayaram's handbook correct or not. or just slightly incomplete.?

Why bother with Jayaram?

Go with the original description. Hora (1923) says the spines are serrated anteriorly and posteriorly.

thanks HH for the confirmation on the serrations.

I have a copy of that publication. I don't have any of Hora's work on Erethistidae
although I have tried to obtain some. Alas :( to no avail.
