I can't find this fish in any book or this website

{I would need to know its latin name}. Does any one out there in catfish land know its proper name or any other info? All I know is it comes from some where in south america and can grow to several feet in length

{this one is currently 6" long and growing fast}.It normally is a silvery green{I saw many of these about 20 years ago} it eats anything

including it's tank mates.

It looks like some sort of Bagrid to me, which are Asian. I would not be able to tell you which species though.

I've seen exactly the same fish for sale in Belgium.
they were called 'Rhamdia spp albino"
they're no bagrids; no nasal barbels. I recently asked HH about that, and every bagrid has nasals, so it's a pimelodid I think.
I have a strong hunch this fish is a manmade creation: there are xanthoristic (albino's with black eyes) as well as true albinistic fishes in the batch in Belgium.
perhaps a hybrid between 2 Pimelodid species? this stuff does happen!
we know the hybrid between the Tiger Shovelnose and the Red Tail.

Thank you all for some quick responses but I spent the morning looking at The world of catfishes by Midori Kobayagawa and found some pictures of a juvenile that looked right Heptapteridae :: Rhamdia quelen or Heptapteridae :: Rhamdia cf. guairensis

I'm sure it's one of these
