I have two of theese lovely striped things swimming around in my tanks and just wondered if anyone else had some experience with this fish ?
At least here in norway they are quite rare and i personally just know about two others that have them.
Too bad because they have a wonderful temperament against other fish and doesn`t eat eggs or fry (well, atleast mine doesn`t... they are now about 9 cm long and clearly mature because i had to separate them due to internal fighting)

What do you need to know? They do best in a hillstream tank and are not particularly difficult to breed.

As you probably realised, this subject got moved.
Garra Ceylonensis isn't a catfish, it's of the "Minnow" family.
There may well be some people on this site that has some experience with it, but at it's not a catfish, so the people who specialize in this type of fish will probably have a forum somewhere else.
Of course, fishbase has some info
here.

Garra`s not a catfish ? correct me if i`m wrong but isn`t every fish with a suckermouth a cathfish ?
I don`t know.. i just love theese fish
The only trouble i have with them is that they have become extremly agressive against eachother so i`m guessing i have to males..
And "minnow" family.. hm... any other examples of fish in this family ? i`m having a little trouble with translating that expression into norwegian

no, lots of different families of fish have a suckermouth. it's a common adaptation for fish that live in fast flowing water, or those that graze from surfaces.
Garra ceylonensis is indeed as matsp says, a fish that belongs to the cypriniforme order.
it's more closely related to koi carp or goldfish than any catfish (order siluriforme)
you'll know if you have a male , as it will develop tubercles (whitespots, a bit bigger than ich) on it's head when it want's to breed.
aha...

he he... maybe he should change name to "goldie" or something
He`s (i think it`s a he)got two little whitish things on he`s head, almost like wart`ts or lumps... is this what you mean by "tubercles" ?
i don`t know if this works but i`m trying to insert a picture with this message... maybe easyer to see then

can't see any on yours, but there should be more than two, they look like this....
fish don't necessarily always get them in an aquarium, as they don't recieve the same stimuli to spawn as they do in the wild ie day length, temp increase etc.

aha.. ok.. I haven`t seen something like this on my fish but i`m still guessing I got two males because the smallest one is chased through the tank like crazy so i had to separate them.
They where the same size when i bought them but they now have separated and the smallest one seeme`s to have taken charge of the tank and made his territory.
