Why is this RTC yellow? Why do his eyes appear cloudy?

Its probably a species variation that makes him a different colour however..
- They are asian catfish not african and this post should have been in the correct forum
- That fish is EXTREMELY thin! You need to feed it up alot, they need plenty every day..

I'd rather say that RTC comes from SA :).
I don't know why it's yellow but cloudy eyes sometimes means that your water condition is or was really bad for long time.

Edited: Silurus was faster :)

RTCâ??s do not need to be fed everyday. They are predatory catfish and they can be kept quite well on two feeds a week, (even less with large ones).
Worton is correct the cloudy eyes are a result in bad water conditions.
I found that when I was caring for quite a few of these, that water quality has to be good to very good. When one overfed these fish, the water quality went sour very quickly. (RTCâ??s produce a lot of urine) This then caused the fish to vomit up anything remaining in their stomachs, and therefore souring the water even more. If the fish is quite small try feeding it on prawns, for a while this may redden the tail up a bit,
I have seen some large RTCâ??s tail turn grey- yellow, but this was mainly down to bad husbandry by the owners. I did look after a 3 foot specimen that had more grey than red in its tail, and it stayed like, even with a good diet and the water quality being improved.
