Panda or Peppered Cory

Post by pk237776 »

Hi,

I have a UK 10 gallon tank which has 3 Platy's and 5 neon Tetra's. I now want to add 2, possibly 3 Cory's and have norrowed it down to the Panda and Peppered variety. I really do not know which to get and any suggestions would be much apreciated! Also, if someone could let me know whether I should get 2 or 3 (considering the space) and whether its best if they're male or female

Many Thanks

Three Corys will be fine in 10 gallon tank. As far as your decision of panda or paleatus either would be fine. Both species do well at cooler temperatures, below 75 degrees. If you buy a trio get 2 males and 1 female, maybe you will be able to breed them. Both species are easy to breed. Best of luck.

Search the site re Pandas. Alot of people have problems with them including me. I have lost far too many Pandas while all of my other fish do fine. But I have to admit, I like the look of Pandas above all others.

I have had problems with pandas when I first get them but after the establish themselves they do much better. I also have kept peppered and done of them made it very long...guess I am not good with corydoras (strange because my otocinclus are doing great). The panda's are a smaller species I think.

Where I'm from, panda corydoras are very easy to take care of. I have never encountered diseases among them so far. My tank's water temp is 28 degrees celsius on the average although I know they thrive in cooler temperatures. I agree they are very cute and sociable. They are the reason why I got started on corys in the first place. Easily my favorite cory. :D
