Here are two links here at PC. My guess from the info the answer would be no.

An adult columbian shark is a marine or at the very least brackish water fish. If by "JD" you mean Jack Dempsey, these are an aggressive, Freshwater fish. When the Columbian shark reaches much more than six inches or so it is going to start to require increasing amounts of salt in the water...This will eventually kill your Dempsey. Good luck....My suggestion is to either get a tank that can be set up for brackish/marine or take the shark back to the store you got it from and ask for a store credit or exchange.[/i]

Pictus catfish should be not be kept with salt, it's a freshwater fish.

As to wether the Jack Dempsey is going to be "happy" having the swimming around it is a different question... Jack Dempseys aren't exactly known to be friendly... ;-)

Even as a juvenile, the columbian shark should have some salt added to the water. If you do have a pictus in the tank with it, the salt will burn the pictus (as a scaleless catfish, the pictus will not take kindly to salt).
