I bought a friend's tank and this guy was in it. I don't know what he is. I moved him to a larger tank and got this photo durring the move.

Image

He's so docile that I can reach in the tank and pick him up. He doesn't even struggle. My friend said he's always been that way.

He bought the tank about 20 years ago and this was the first fish he got for it. It was about 2 inches long when he got it. It's now over 10 inches long.

Thanks for your help,
Blair

LOL............I didn't buy it to keep fish in. Besides keeping fish (mostly the large Malawi Haps [cichlids]) as a hobby I also collect ancient pre-columbian and American southwest pottery. I use old aquariums as display cases. When set up they look like museum displays. They look great. You can see part of my collection at:

Thanks,

there's quite a few people in the U.S that would pay you a lot of money for that fish :D . Dont give anyone your address or someone might put on their ninja stealth gear and have him away :D :D :D .

Hi Blair,

If you decide to sell him/her, keep me in mind. I live in Dallas, and would drive down to pick it up. I recently traded for one from a member and would like to get another to attempt breeding.

Thanks,

Kenneth

Lately, these fish have gotten to be worth quite a bit (well people have been paying alot for them anyways). Quite likely alot more than you paid for the tank. Do a search for closed auctions on http://www.aquabid.com for Blue-Eyed Pleco and you'll see what I mean.

Ypu are a liar plain and simple. If what you say is true please provide a link to the photo in question so I can have a talk with who ever is using my photo. I will also provide other photos of this fish, photos with me in them. I am taking them now and will post in just a few minutes.

I did not want to take him back out of the tank but I will not have someone ruin my auction, so here are 2 photos I just took:

The big ugly guy with the mad look on his face is me

now, If I find out that you (GER1023) are one of the bidders on the auction and you end up winning it. I will sell it to the second highest bidder. You just cost yourself the pleco.

There have been a couple of these postings recently calling into question the validity of Aquabid sellers. Both persons have been wrong and had to apologize. It is very serious to make these types of accusations and this forum is not the place for people to go about propagating libel. Please refrain from doing so.
Blair, I apologize for the way you were treated here. It is not appropriate behaviour in this little on-line community.
