Ok I'm looking to get a pair of L183 and I have seen them for sale on http://www.trimar.co.uk but they are labled as L182/L183 so I dont know what I'm getting.I kept a female L182 before and she was a nice fish but nothing compared to the L183 with the white fin rims an all.I emailed trimar and asked which species they were. The reply said they appear to be L183 and that they lose the white rims as they grow, is this true? They also said there is a pic of them in their gallery but its not a very clear pic and could be either.

Can you guys check it for me before I go shelling out money for these?

Heres the pic

That looks like a female L183 to me, males get much darker as adults but usually have a bit left of the white seams in the fins...the spots can almost disappear too but some are always present.

Thanks I'll maybe order them then.

I really just dont want to end up with the L182's though.

I hear L183 can be hard to keep, what kinda params should I be aiming for?

They thrives well in normal tapwater if not to hard but for breeding they need soft and a bit acid, >3dGH pH 5,5-6,5 and a temp between 25-28 C would be optimal for this species.
