Problems With Eating

Post by J-man »

I bought two channels on sunday, they are around 6inchs long. The problem is that they are very skittish and are hardly eating, I hear these things eat like pigs but mine hardly eat. I give them catfish pellets which they may take a couple pecks at but thats about it, ive put worms in there and they just leave them. They are currently in a 36gallon tank but will be going outside in my pond when they get big enough. Any roccomendations on getting them eating?

Your fish are probably settling in. Give them a few more days.

Same thing happened with mine he was about the same size when I moved the fish from one apartment to another. After a few days he was more comfortable with his new surroundings and his appetite gradually increased.
